(…)

The works gathered here, like in a collection, all have to do with absence and implicitly with presence. They haven’t put together because of any aesthetic similarity but because each contains the same theme: the absence of the body due to time, to a material or to the artist’s powers to erase it.

Something has happened / has not happened / should happen / will happen. The only body being present here is yours, shaken in his status as a viewer, becoming a potential actor of a story that otherwise escapes him. Who is waiting for what? Who is from?

An exhibition that leaves to the visitor open doors to other more personal physical elements.

Showing both new generation and more experienced artists, la mire, originally the non-profit organisation Lumen, plays an important part in the cultural life of the Région Centre (FR) in the fields of photography and visual arts.

The programming alternates between collective and monographic exhibitions, and educational meetings to foster exchanges and reflection.

La mire strongly supports the status of the artist and offers funding for each exhibition based in France and the edition of a booklet, thirty of which are sold with an original work in the same format as the booklet (A5).
